Resource Allocation Competition (RAC) 2025
The Digital Research Alliance of Canada Resource Allocation Competition (RAC) provides faculty members and their research groups access to compute, storage, and cloud resources beyond what is available through the Rapid Access Service (RAS). If you need help preparing your RAC request, the Research Computing Group is here to assist in identifying your research requirements and guiding you through the submission process.
RAC submission deadlines are from September 24 to October 30, 2024. For more information on RAC, please see the Digital Research Alliance of Canada RAC website.
Research Development Team Call for Proposals 2023
Projects begin: Spring 2024
Introduction and Purpose
The RDT works with SFU-lead research projects to develop custom software and platforms, using development best practices to help accelerate research outcomes. The Software Development team members are supported by the Systems Analyst team who are experts in the field of automation and system administration.
The RDT is a cost-recovery service. We typically work with researchers who have existing funding to develop software and platforms for their projects. To expand our services, we are issuing this call for proposals. It consists of two streams: 1) provision of 60 hrs of bootstrap, no-cost development support for new projects applying for grant funding, and 2) 60 hrs of no-cost development support for new clients with funded projects.
Canada-wide visualization contest
We are proud to announce a Canada-wide scientific visualization Contest. Hosted by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada and its regional partners, and now in its 6th year, Visualize This! is a Canada-wide Contest that aims to celebrate the innovative ways visualization can help researchers explore datasets and answer important scientific questions. Visualize This! is your chance to challenge your creativity, experiment with cutting-edge visualization tools, and contribute to the growth of data visualization in Canada!
